This page explains how to report a concern if you are a professional (paid or voluntary) working with children in Buckinghamshire.

Buckinghamshire Council – First Response Team
For any concerns about a child – including foster placements, notification of offenders in area, etc. you can make a referral to Buckinghamshire Council’s First Response Team by completing a Raise a Concern Online Form

Continuum of Need Incorporating Threshold Guidance
The Continuum of Need Incorporating Threshold Guidance, previously referred to as the Safeguarding Children’s Threshold, is a means of providing needs-led appropriate access to services in compliance with statutory duties. The Continuum of Need Windscreen demonstrates the levels of need children, young people and their families can move between when considering the type of support needed.
Discuss with your safeguarding lead and use your professional judgement to identify the level of need of the child.

If you are a school and need some advice, you can consult the Education Safeguarding Advisory Service (ESAS) on 01296 382912 or speak with your dedicated Family Support Service School Link Worker.
Concerns about staff working with children
If you have a concern about a member of staff working with children (in either a paid or voluntary capacity) please contact the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) on 01296 382070 or secure-LADO@buckinghamshire.gov.uk
Child Exploitation
If you are concerned a child or young person is being criminally or sexually exploited you must report it.
There is a Child Exploitation Indicator Tool that can be used alongside the established referral process and should be attached to the MARF when referring to First Response.
