Buckinghamshire Domestic Abuse Board

The Buckinghamshire Domestic Abuse Board has a website Bucks Domestic Abuse Partnership website and also has a multi-agency training catalogue.

This multiagency “Tackling and Preventing Domestic Abuse” training catalogue is aimed towards all key partners and agencies to understand the uniqueness and complexities of LGBT+ communities, minority ethnic groups, children and young people in order to foster a better understanding of how abuse may present.

The training will cover the issues, barriers and best practice and ensure the highest quality engagement with victims and survivors.  Through the delivery of this training offer, it is hoped that more victims will be identified and helped at the earliest opportunity.

The training is fully funded, and professionals are encouraged to sign up to the courses which are a mixture of face to face and virtual sessions.  There are 20 courses to choose from, ranging from coercive control, adolescent to parent abuse, DASH/MARAC, non fatal strangulation training and much more.

Modern Slavery, Human Trafficking and Exploitation Training Resource

Due to the success of previous sessions, we are delighted to offer further Modern Slavery, Human Trafficking and Exploitation training events. We also have a new course focused on trauma informed listening and trauma informed case reporting.

The training is free of charge and delivered by Hope for Justice, a leading anti-slavery charity, who share their experience through accredited training. The training is designed for statutory front line workers and those who work in the community supporting people in vulnerable circumstances.

If your work puts you in situations where you may encounter people in exploitative circumstances, this training will be extremely valuable to you. You do NOT need to have any prior knowledge of modern slavery or exploitation. The training will dispel myths, capture current trends, and enable you to be alert to signs of exploitation and human trafficking and understand how pervasive such crimes are. You will see the importance of prevention to protect those who are targeted because they are vulnerable. It will offer insight from a victim’s perspective and the barriers to disclosure.

There are various learning pathways suited to your time commitment and training needs. Please see the links below for more information and to select the best option for you. I would encourage you and your team to book on as soon as possible because spaces are limited.
