Pre-birth procedures; a multi-agency perspective
Throughout November the BSCP & BSAB are running workshops on Pre-birth procedures; a multi-agency perspective, this will be led by the Principal social worker and BSCP business manager.
The purpose of the workshop is to refresh your knowledge of the procedures and reflect on current practices.
Topics covered will include:
The sessions are for Multi agency frontline practitioners, people who have contact with families, are responsible for assessing their needs or offering them a service or who may be aware of the needs of pregnant women and unborns, across both the adults and Childrens service areas.
Child Sexual Exploitation Workshop
On the 24th of November, the BSCP & BSAB will be hosting a virtual Child Sexual Exploitation workshop with Dr Jenny Molloy. This workshop will focus on Dr Molloy’s lived experiences of child sexual exploitation from childhood up until adult life.
Dr Jenny Molloy is an author, trainer an motivational speaker. Jenny proudly identifies as a care leaver, having spent most of her childhood under the care of Hackney Social Services.
Jenny works extensively with Local authorities across the Country, as well as working with Ofsted, Department of Education; Frontline and Higher Education Institutions. Jenny received an honorary doctorate from Huddersfield University for her service to vulnerable children and families.
BSAB Conference – Learning from Serious Adult Reviews
On the 10th of December the BSAB will host our annual conference focusing on Learning from Serious Adult reviews including Self-Neglect, Mental Capacity and Multi agency communication.
The conference will feature guest speakers and a Q&A session.

Transitional Safeguarding Workshop
In January 2022, the BSCP & BSAB are hosting a Transitional Safeguarding workshop with guest speaker Dez Holmes.
The workshop will emphasise that Transitional safeguarding is a rights based, equalities-oriented and relational approach to helping adolescents and young adults be and feel safe. It is a whole systems approach which redefines how we think about both ‘transitions’ and ‘safeguarding’.
The workshop is sited to managers and leaders as well as practitioners across the multi-agency partnership.
Hoarding Workshops
Throughout 2022 the BSAB will be hosting Hoarding workshops with guest speaker Megan Karnes from Hoarding UK.
