A recent review took place regarding a child who died in an RTC whilst cycling and the review information revealed had this child been wearing a helmet it’s possible that the outcome may have been different. For current rules, the Parliamentary Bill, child cycling safety only pertains to children of 16 years and under but relevant to people of any age.
